Snoring Therapy in Orthodontics<\/span><\/h1>\n

Snoring as such is not a health hazard but can also be a first sign of a threatening sleep disorder.<\/p>\n

Obstructive Sleep Apnea<\/h3>\n

In obstructive sleep apnea<\/strong>, the upper airway is usually narrowed. During sleep, the muscles relax and the tongue sags, so that the narrowed airway is completely closed. These affected persons then wake up after a few failed breaths, whereby the sleep is interrupted many times each night.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”288″ img_size=”medium”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]Both snoring and obstructive sleep apnea affect not only adults but also children! <\/strong>Here, symptoms similar to ADHD, do predominate.\u00a0Additional information.<\/a><\/p>\n

The German Society for Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine (DGSM) describes in its guideline S3 “Non-restorative sleep \/ sleep disorders”:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“… that lower jaw protrusion devices are a potential treatment option for patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea. Even with a refusal or failure of a CPAP therapy using a breathing apparatus, such a therapy can be used on a trial basis … ” according to the DGSM.<\/p>\n

A prerequisite for this is a laboratory-made special equipment, manufactured individually according to 3d scans, whereby two-jaw devices are to be preferred. We are happy to produce appropriate devices for you. Of course, we also advise you individually on your treatment cases and suggest you suitable constructions.<\/p>\n

Here we favor the SnoreBlock <\/strong>according to Dr. Baxmann. This is comfortable for the patient to wear and, compared to other devices, seems to cause low dentoalveolar side effects.
